Week 2 - White Bible p.33

My cute best friends at the CCM
So this week was BIEN!!

It is still crazy to me that I am a missionary, and I am living in Mexico, but it is clear I'm not in Utah anymore with all the gunshots and parties outside!

Last week after emailing we got to go to the Mexico City Temple, and I also got to go today. Yay! It was so pretty, and I love the temple. It was in Spanish last week but I got headphones and got to read a paper when I had to talk in Spanish so that was good. Also today the session was in English so I really loved it. hahah. The Mexico City temple is kind of far. So we took a bus. Mexico City is very different than Layton, Utah. I just thought how different my life would be. I definitely took so much for granted back at home, but the temple was so great!

I mentioned last week that the entire MTC was sick. I got a little sick but not too bad. I don't think I got the whole virus. I did go to the doctors though, and they just told me to take a nap and some medicine. So I got to take my first nap of my mission!! It was super great, and I am feeling a lot better now so I am grateful!

About my subject line.... Here at the MTC I really like making friends. I say hi to everyone because I just feel like if I make friends I will be happier even when I am missing my family or home. The CCM is basically a bunch of elders and not a lot of sisters so if I want friends it has to be with the Elders. Well, I also have been a little homesick so a guy in my zone wrote me a note that told me that he also was homesick, and it would be okay. It was nice, but now all the elders in my district think it's funny to flash me the number 33 referencing pg. 33 of the white bible whenever I talk to a boy so that's super awesome. Apparently I am not supposed to be friends with anyone here. Whoops. I think all of the boys fresh out of high school haven't quite figured out there is a difference between being friends and thinking it is flirting.

In other news, half of my zone is leaving on Friday. My cute comp and I are the only Hermanas left until we get a new district so we were called as Sister Training Leaders. Haha not sure who I am supposed to be leading because we don't have other sisters, but that's fine.

Also last silly story, Monday night we got home and changed and started writing in journals and stuff and then my roommate Hermana McPherson asked my comp from the bathroom if blood makes her pass out, and then not to look. So Remi and I immediately went into full mom mode and ran into the bathroom washed blood off her face and had her put pressure on her head and rushed her to the clinic. What happened was she bent down to pick something up in the shower and then hit her head on the soap tray coming up. She ended up not getting stitches, but we were really worried for minute.

Missionary life is muy dificil but I know that it is so worth it. I love the opportunity I have to share the gospel that I love so much.

To end I will just share something I learned this week. We had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation and we memorized the principles in Spanish. Afterwards we were asked how teaching the plan can help someone. So I just want to share my testimony of the Plan of Salvation. I love this plan and I truly believe it is the plan of HAPPINESS. What stands out to me the very most is the love that Heavenly Father has for us. He knew that we had to come to earth and have trails and gain knowledge, but he made it possible for us to live with him again. He knows us and he knows that we are not perfect, but he loves us anyway, and still wants us to live with him again and have eternal life. I am so grateful for that. I am not perfect, and I don't speak perfect Spanish, and I cry all the time because I am in a different country doing a crazy thing and learning a new language so fast. I know that Heavenly Father is there for me. I know that he loves all of his children. God does love us and that gives me so much comfort.

Dios Nos Ama!!!

I love the gospel and I love you!!
TE AMO!!

Love, Hermana Jacey Petersen

ps.... I never thought I would be this missionary but I love notes or whatever and if you send them through websites like mtcmexicocarepackages.com I can read them that day and it makes me so happy.
