Week 44
So
this week was pretty good. San Juan honestly is very strange, and like I told
my mom I am not sure there was even a day this past week that I wasn’t given a
phone number, or asked to drink with a group of drunk men, or cat called, or
asked to eat breakfast with creepy men. Sometimes it is very clear that I am a
little different here in Peru. But what can ya do I guess.
This area is actually
progressing pretty well, and we are happy we can find good people to teach. We
taught a couple this week who 1. Was married which is not common. 2. They were
realllllyyyyy good. They genuinely were very interested and questioned why they
had never heard about Joseph Smith before. They didn’t understand why everyone didn’t
teach it. I am glad to be part of a church that does have all the truth and
teaches it. I know this church is true and what a blessing it is in my
life.
I was also reminded
this week of my reasons for being here. It has been 3 years since my beautiful
friend Sofie returned to live with our Heavenly Father and I have learned and
grown a lot in those 3 years. I am here because of her. I love that I can
share this ETERNAL message of hope and love to the people here in Peru
because I know she is sharing it on the other side to people who also need this
message. I came to Peru for my angel, but I am still here because I truly do
love this gospel and truly love my Savior and sharing this message is worth
it.
I am grateful for all
of you and your support.
