Week 16 - Baptism

Okay so here is this week for you all!!

On Tuesday we left for Lima and spent the week there.

On Wednesday we went to immigrations for visa things and to get an ID which turned out to be the worst picture I think I have ever taken, but its fine ha-ha. It was fun because I got to see a bunch of my friends again from the CCM which I love lots!!

We also got to go to the temple which honestly was an answer to my prayers. Just last week I was telling my friends here that I was sad because I just felt like going to the temple but couldn’t because when you serve in the south of my mission you never get to go!! We also got Subway for lunch which is so good. I miss American food!!!

Friday we had a multi-zone conference in Lima with Elder Falabella, the area president!! It was really awesome. A big thing I took from it was this is the Lord’s work and he knows more that we do. I’m a pretty independent person and I love my agency. So sometimes I like to think that things are my choice. But God knows way more than I do. He sees the bigger picture when I only see the here and now. He knows what is best for me and where I need to be. Sometimes I have moments that are harder than others. Where I wonder what I am doing here or if I am making a difference, or why me when there are people who know more Spanish that I do. But I was reminded of the talk in conference by elder M. Joseph Brough. He said that asking “WHY ME” doesn’t change the situation. God requires us to do hard things, but with God nothing is impossible. He knows what is best, and he will always help us!

The last thing this week was we had a baptism!!! Her name is Kary and with her experience I know that God is helping prepare people’s hearts for this gospel! She has been listening to missionaries for like a year now, and wasn’t progressing, but when we went to visit her she was very willing to do everything and had a desire to be baptized. On Saturday, her baptism was wonderful and so, so happy. She has a son on a mission who was able to Skype and watch. He was beaming for the entire hour and a half. The church is true and his joy shows me that. I love this gospel and I am grateful for the opportunity to share something that brings so much happiness!

Love, Hermana Jacey Petersen

1. I love to see the temple, I’m going there someday. To feel the Holy Spirit, to listen and to pray. For the temple is a house of God a place of love and beauty, I’ll prepare myself while I am young... This is my shakin booty.....
I just thought with pictures of the temple I should add what I thought this song said when I was younger!!! hahahha
2. Here are some of my silly friends
3. Here is my friend who always asks me if I have friends I can set him up with. So if anyone is interested let me know. He still has about 20 months on his mission, but after that he will be at BYU playing tennis! hahahha
