Christmas Skype Call
This Christmas was different from Christmas' in the past. For one, this sweet missionary was missing. We did however, get to Skype with her, and I don't think it happens all the time, but I got to talk to her on the phone to arrange it not once, but twice. One time she was crying, and the second time she wasn't. I was super worried because of the first crying phone call that Jacey would be crying through the phone Skype call on Christmas that I started praying that it wouldn't set her back. I know her mission is hard. I get that, but there isn't a lot I can do to help her out. She simply needs to go through the steps and lean on her Savior to get to where she needs to be.
THEN: on Christmas day we got to actually see her!!! Yay!!! It was so nice for many reasons. 1. She didn't cry through the whole call. Yay!!! 2. We got to see her interacting with her companion, and listen to her speak in Spanish. 3. We got to hear her tell the stories about her mission that she fails to write in her weekly emails. 4. We got to see her sweet sassy personality.
Clayton came over (long story there), and was able to speak to Jacey and her companion in Spanish, and I think it was an ice breaker that the companion was able to connect a little to Jacey's family.
Jacey only cried when I made her bear her testimony (which she did in Spanish), and then we had a family prayer. This is a learning adventure for all of us, and it is definitely harder than I thought it would be. Jacey is so full of life and vivacity that we definitely miss her presence in our home. It was nice to be silly with her as we Skyped.
Thank you Jacey for your righteous example to us every day.
