Week 35

So my mom informed me that I need to be A LOT better at writing so she can add things to the blog, and also so people can hear about how I am doing. So I am very sorry. I will try and not only send old pictures and be better about writing.

This week was really good. We didn’t find a lot of new investigators, but we can see some really good progress in some of our investigators. One of our investigators, Daniel, is in Alma 11, so he is reading a lot faster than I am. We also may or may not have accidentally set him up with one of the young single adults in our ward. Whoops. I guess it’s fine if she helps him to come to church. hahah. But he is really, really good. He texted us last night and apologized for leaving early from one of the sessions of conference, and asked what the prophet said. He also has introduced us to his cousin. His brother, wants us to invite his mom to church, and might invite a friend to our appointment tonight.
We have another investigator who is planning on getting baptized this next Saturday. Yayayay!  His name is Santiago and he is 11 years old. He is really good and has family that is members. We were happy that we got permission from his parents and have plans for him to get baptized. So pray for us that everything works out.

Also CONFERENCE was this week. I love conference. It sure goes by a lot faster here than it did at home. I don’t know if it’s because I can watch it in English or because I am just more interested. Either way I am happy. I love, love, love that a lot of the talks were focused on the family and also the atonement. TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS. I love my family and I am so grateful that I can be with them forever. Also I am so excited that one day I can get married and have an eternal family as well. How exciting. We talked to a member last night and he told us that we are focused missionaries because we know what plans we need to have after the mission. MARRIAGE. He congratulated us and was very pleased that we are focused on things that are very important. Because apparently here no one gets married until they are like 30. But also the Atonement is such an amazing cool thing. Jesus Christ did SO much for us because HE LOVE US, and so does our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for someone who completely understand me and what I am going through and knows how to help because he has been through it all. I am also grateful for a Heavenly Father who has a perfect plan for all of us. Now the only thing is that I need to trust in his plan more than my own. Whoops..... It’s a learning process… I am so grateful for the things that I am learning and the opportunity that I have to teach people here and invite them to participate in something as wonderful as Christ’s atonement. Yesterday, I officially hit 8 months. About a year ago I opened my call and I would have never thought that I was coming to Peru, but oh how grateful I am for my Heavenly Father who knows better than I do what is best. It’s not easy, but it is all very worth it.

I love you all.
Hermana Jacey Petersen.
