WEEK 40- BAPTISMS!!
Well....
I have officially been here MORE than 9 months!! Not much more, but I have less
time left then I have been here. So that’s cool for anyone who is counting down
my days, and is really excited to see me again when I get home! hahah jk.
But really, this week
was really great!! We had a baptism! Alexander got baptized and I wrote about
him and his story just a few weeks ago so I won’t rewrite all of it. But it was
really great and honestly to see that change that he made in his life is
incredible and a huge example to me. Sometimes there are little things that I
know I should change to be better but it’s hard so I don’t want to. But he gave
up something so big in his life to follow Christ. There is a quote that I was
talking about with my companion the other day about how the church is a
hospital for the sinners not a museum of the saints. No one is perfect but this
church is and so is the plan that our father in heaven has for each of us! This
church is true and to see someone make covenants with God and enter into the
waters of baptism is honestly one of the most rewarding things and is what
makes it worth it. The day that he got baptized I asked him how he felt and he
looked me in the eyes and said.... How do you think i feel.... and then
continued to tell me he was very happy. This church is true. I know that will
all of my heart and every fiber of my being. This mission is not easy but to be
an instrument in the hands of the lord and watch the atonement work wonders in
the lives of people that I love is incredible!
Also it was so, so
nice being able to talk to my cute family yesterday. Happy Mother’s day to my
cute mom!! And also happy mother’s day to all of my other moms.... I feel like
I have a bunch. All of my friends moms and my family and the people that are
supporting me here! Each of the women in my life are amazing and have shaped me
into the person I am today and are examples for the kind of mom and wife that I
would like to be. Thank you!!!
I love you all and I
am so grateful for each of you. Sorry this is kind of short!!!
