Week 50

This week we had interviews with our new president and he told me that I was FUN so I guess you could say that I am THRIVING here in Peru!

This week we taught a man and we began to teach the restoration and he kept cutting us off and telling us things that he believed..... He explained to us that God didn't create a world and that Jesus Christ didn't establish a church. He told us we should only call Christ our brother J to respect him. He shared that our lives are just pre-filmed movies and that we don't choose what is going to happen. We finished the lesson and said we said a prayer inviting him to pray and ask his heavenly father. He then invited us to Look for the truth. He told us that we were FREE. I left feeling a little frustrated because I do know that this is true. I don't think I would be here in Peru.... 4290 miles from my home if I wasn't sure of that one. I KNOW with all my heart that this church is true. God DID create the world for us..... Christ DID establish a very perfect church when he was here. Our heavenly father also gave is this pretty cool gift of AGENCY!!! We are free to choose to obey, we can choose to go to church or read the scriptures or do the things we want. he will love and support us and will shower us with blesses when we CHOOSE the right. My companion and I were talking about all the proof  that we actually have. The book of Mormon, a living prophet, the fact that we can speak Spanish to these people in Peru, our personal answers to our prayers. There are so many reasons why this really is the true church and I am grateful that I know that. I love this gospel and I am grateful to share the truths that I know.

We were also able to have a pretty cool experience with a family from the United states that was visiting this week. We got a text on Sunday asking us if we knew a certain family. They were in our ward and they shared that their dad had taught and baptized this family. We then asked the Sister and she said she remember this elder that baptized her. We were able to meet up with the family and show them the home and the sister and it was an experience that I honestly wont forget. She was so extremely grateful for this man. He is now like 70 years old. he was here with his kids and grand kids and she was 8 years old when he baptized her. She too has her kids and grand kids and is very very active in the church. It truly showed me how important this work is. THIS IS THE WORK OF THE LORD!!!!

I love this church! I love my savior and I am glad to be here and to get to know him a lot better!!
i love you all and hope you have a great week!!
