Week 62
Hey!!!! So
the sun actually decided to come out today for the first time in a while, and I
definitely have a pretty bad sunburn!! I kind of look like a tomato, but it’s
all good!! We also went to Cristo Blanco and the beach again!! I really do love
living close to the beach!!
This week
was long and pretty wild, but it was also pretty great!! This week my companion
felt like we needed to try to reach out to someone she had contacted with her
old companion before I got here. So we did even though she had forgotten her
name. When we got there we saw a little girl literally screaming from the 5th
floor of the building. She was home alone and was scared. She didn’t know where
her parents were. We asked her for her parent’s name, and it turned out her mom
was the lady we were looking for. She then threw her mom’s ID down to us so we would
know who she was. We sat and waited with the girl for about 40 minutes for her
mom to come home. She finally did and we have an appointment with her tonight!
Also...... She wasn’t being irresponsible, her 14 year old daughter was
babysitting, and apparently left without letting her mom know!!
Anyway, I
also saw quite a lot of drugs, and drug deals this week. So that was
interesting. I am just glad the drug dealers and the stoned men are kind!!
We have a
few friends that are progressing really well!! Literally we have three people
who are READY to be baptized, two of them just need to get married. We are
trying to help them plan a wedding, and the other one honestly just needs to
get baptized. We are working with her on a date so that her boyfriend’s mom can
also come!! One of my favorite parts of this work is when people truly
understand and are willing to follow Christ. We were with a lady this week and
my companion had told me that they have asked and asked her to get baptized but
she has never accepted. So in the lesson I just asked like it says in Mosiah 18
what is stopping you from being baptized. She looked at me and said, “Honestly
nothing”. So we invited her to be baptized and she accepted!! This is the work
of the Lord and I am so grateful to be an instrument in his hands!!!
Love you all
so much!!
